IAG orders 14 Airbus brand new A321XLRs
International Airlines Group (IAG) (IAG) placed a firm order for 14 of Airbus’ newest A321XLR aircraft at the Paris Air Show, on June 18, 2019.
Eight new A321XLRs will go to Iberia, which strives to “operate new transatlantic destinations” and increase frequencies in some key markets. The remaining six A321XLRs are for Aer Lingus and are due to support plans to launch new routes “beyond the US East Coast and Canada”.
With this deal, IAG’s combined Airbus orders will jump to 530, according to the manufacturer.
Airbus has just officially launched the A321XLR (Xtra Long Range) on the first day of the Paris Air Show, on June 17, 2019. The new jetliner is to be the longest-range narrow-body aircraft with a range of up to 4,700nm (8,700 km) in a two-class layout.
