StarLux Airlines, a Taiwan based airline, has put 12 new Airbus aircraft on its leasing order, Taiwan Apple Daily reported.

The company previously had nine A350-900s and eight A350-1000 aircraft in Airbus’ order backlog. As of September 10, 2020, StarLux’s fleet will be joined by another eight leased A330-900, three A321neos, and an additional A350-900 jet.

The airline should see its first A330neo in Q4 2021, while the delivery of its A350 was pushed back to the beginning of 2022. Starlux has a total of 39 aircraft on order that should all be delivered by 2024.

With its new A330neos, the carrier plans to begin medium and long-haul regional services to Japan, while its A350 XWB widebodies will be reserved for international flights to the US and Europe.

StarLux Airlines is a luxury carrier operating three leased Airbus A321neos that are no older than a year. The airline performed its first flight on January 23, 2020, and are currently running “fake flights” in Taiwan until the crisis recedes.
