Lufthansa Technik signs new contract: seeks to reign in China
Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen and China Aviation Supplies (CASC) signed a new long-term contract of Total Component Maintenance. The contract will make both parties the biggest component support providers in China.
Under a new contract, signed on September 23, 2020, Lufthansa Technik will provide Total Component Maintenance (TCM) for Qingdao Airlines, the Chinese carrier that operates more than 40 Airbus A320 aircraft. Meanwhile, CASC will provide component management services for the Chinese airline.
The TCM includes comprehensive closed-loop component repair and overhaul service for entire aircraft or selected parts.
According to Lufthansa Technik, during the COVID-19 crisis, this component support concept would ensure that Qingdao Airlines fleet remains reliable.
Also, the company stated that the support will help the airline to avoid cash outlays for the material.
Lufthansa Technik announced that this contract would make both companies the leaders in component support for airlines in China.
