Saudia paints 3 jets in unique liveries to promote G20 summit
Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) decided to promote the G20 summit which will run on November 21-22, 2020, in a special way. Instead of having the meeting of the world‘s richest nations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as it was planned before the COVID-19 pandemic, the event’s organizers decided to hold the event virtually. In order to promote the virtually-held summit, Saudia painted its three aircraft in special liveries.
Saudia adorned the new livery of its Boeing 787-9, Boeing 777-300ER, and Airbus A320 jets dedicated to the G20 meeting. The custom design for the new liveries was applied by Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAE), a sister company of Saudia. One of three exclusively painted jets, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, registered as HZ-ARF, as well as the HZ-AK42, the Boeing Triple Seven aircraft, were painted in the motives of Saudi Arabia‘s flag and labeled with a unique G20 summit logo.
A slightly different livery was applied to the airline’s Airbus A320 jet, registered as HZ-ASG. Saudia saved its former colors while adding additional G20 summit-related details.
“Saudi Arabia’s national carrier is committed to being a global air partner in connecting and strengthening economies and industries; seamlessly connecting travelers across borders; and bolstering logistics and supply chain capabilities,” presenting the new liveries said Ibrahim Bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, the General Manager of Saudia.
According to Planespotters.net data, the airline’s fleet consists of a total of 159 jets including 67 Airbus A320 family planes as well as 32 A330 wide-bodies, 9 Boeing 747 jumbos, 39 Boeing Triple Seven jets, and 18 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Saudia’s global network includes more than 95 destinations around the world to all 28 Saudi Arabia’s domestic airports.
