American Airlines Boeing 737 hits lamp post, suffers wing damage

American Airlines Boeing 737-800 sustained left wing damage after crashing into a lamp post at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

American Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft, registered as N834NN, was scheduled to conduct a flight 1005 from DFW airport to Nassau Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS), the Bahamas, on May 28, 2021. However, during the taxi at DFW airport, American Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft crashed into a lamp post sustaining significant left wing damage.

No injuries among the crew and passengers were reported. After the incident, the Boeing 737-800 was towed back at the gate. The passengers were placed onto another aircraft, according to an American local media outlet. 

Currently, American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) has a total of 303 Boeing 737-800 aircraft in its fleet standing at an average of 10.5 years old, the planespotters.net data shows. Out of 303 Boeing 737-800s, 53 aircraft are parked.
