A FedEx Express aircraft slid off an icy taxiway at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) on the morning of January 5, 2022.

The incident happened at about 09:30. Flight 872 was headed to Memphis, Tennessee when the Boeing 767 aircraft slid as it was taxiing for departure.

No injuries were reported, but the aircraft suffered minor damage to its left wing and required towing for inspection. The plane also hit the airport’s anemometer, which measures wind speed.

“The Airport has temporarily closed all runways and taxiways,” the airport tweeted. “The Airport is actively working to de-ice and sand all surfaces as necessary.”

The airport resumed normal operations at about 11:30, two hours after the incident took place.

On land, New Hampshire drivers have been dealing with road closures due to icy conditions.

State police had responded to at least 46 crashes and spin-outs by noon of January 5, 2021, and have warned motorists to take extra caution due to extreme conditions.
