Two American Airlines employees involved in stabbing at Boston Logan Airport

An American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) employee stabbed a coworker during an altercation at Boston Logan Airport (BOS), local media reports.

The incident occurred just before 13:30 on February 15, 2022 at the ramp side of the airport’s Terminal B.

A state police spokesman told local news that the heated argument resulted in one of the employees being stabbed with a Leatherman brand multi-purpose tool. 

The alleged attacker, 34-year-old Kenrick Smith from Leominster, was caught by state troopers inside the terminal with the Leatherman tool, and has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was arraigned hours later at the East Boston District Court.

State police say that the 38-year old victim was conscious when he was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital and is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations by state police suggest that the incident was solely the result of a dispute between the two American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) employees and that the safety of the public was not threatened.

In a statement sent to AeroTime, American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) said: “​​We are aware of an incident that occurred at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) involving two American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) team members and are working closely with law enforcement to assist in their investigation.”
