Malaysia Airlines to increase frequency of international flights

As Malaysia prepares to reopen its borders to fully vaccinated travelers from April 1, 2022, its national carrier Malaysia Airlines announced that it is ramping up its flights to international destinations.

Beginning March 27 2022, the airline will increase the frequency of its flagship Kuala Lumpur-London route to 11 times weekly and will return to full double daily service from July 1, 2022. 

On the same day, Malaysia Airlines will also resume its commercial services to the Indian cities of New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. 

From April 1,2022, the airline will increase its operations to Bangkok from seven times weekly to 14 times weekly and to Phuket from once a week to three times a week. This comes after Thailand recently relaxed its entry requirements for fully vaccinated international travelers.

On March 11, 2022, Malaysia Airlines restarted its flights to Bali, Indonesia with flights operating once a week. Fully vaccinated passengers traveling to Singapore can continue to visit using the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) scheme from Kuala Lumpur and Penang. 

The airline’s flights to Australia will also increase from five times weekly to seven times weekly to Sydney, and from two times weekly to five times weekly to Perth following steady demand for travel in Australia since the country reopened to tourists in February 2022.
