Boeing plans to restart deliveries of 787 Dreamliner aircraft in the second half of 2022, according to a report by Reuters. 

The report, published on April 20, 2022, cited sources as saying that Boeing had told airlines to expect deliveries to resume in the second half of the year, with one of the people telling Reuters that the third quarter was a likely timeframe.  

Deliveries of the Dreamliner have been suspended since May 2021 over manufacturing issues. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also announced on February 15, 2022 that it wants final sign-off on each 787 Dreamliner before it is delivered to customers 

American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) is one of those waiting for aircraft and has been forced to change its summer schedules as its result. It said in February that it had expected to receive all 13 of its delayed 787-8 aircraft in 2022, but now expected only 10.

The Reuters report cited a Boeing spokesperson as saying that the FAA would determine when deliveries resume. An FAA spokesperson told Reuters that “safety dictates the timeline”.
